Rockin' Robins!

Hello! Thank you so much for visiting me, I appreciate it lots!  Its Christmas card time again with some cute little Rockin' Robins.  I won this gorgeously cute stamp and die set from Di at Pixie's Snippets Playground - thank you so much Di!

I stamped the cute little robins (from Clearly Besotted Rockin' Robin clear stamp set) in Vintage Sepia Versafine then added the faces in Black Versafine.  I used my Misti and did quite a few but, so far, have only cut these three out using the dies that come with the set.  I coloured the red breasts in with a Lipstick Red Promarker.  The little hats are from the same stamp set again stamped in the Vintage Sepia and coloured with the red Promarker.  I fussy cut them out as it was a little quicker than lining up the die although it would have been neater if I had used the die so will next time when I won't be rushing (hopefully!).  Again using my Misti, I stamped the branches and the music that came with the Rockin' Robin set along with the 25th which is from Hobby Art Christmas Post clear stamp set.  Using a glue pen and glitter I added sparkle to the hats and the branches.  The sentiments are also from the Clearly Besotted set and I stamped them on snippets of white card, trimmed them down and edged them with the red Promarker.  I glued everything together and job done!

I would like to enter the following absolutely fabulous challenges:

Scrappymo's April Rudolph Day's Challenge - Anything Christmas - I won last months challenge - thank you so much Scrappymo!   Will make my next months entry with the fabulous stamp set I won. It hasn't arrived yet so I couldn't use it this time - it has a long journey to get here!
Pixie's Snippets Playground - Use Snippets - The robins, their hats and the sentiments are all made using white snippets.
That's Crafty - Outnumbered - numbers must feature prominently.
Bizzy Becs - Anything Goes

Purple Butterfly with 'That' embossing folder!

Hello!  Its lovely to see you and thank you so much for your visit, I really appreciate it!

My card today is one I made for my friend Susan whose birthday is today - Happy Birthday Susan! I know she has received the card and likes it so it is safe to post it on my blog now.

I used 'that' embossing folder again!  You know the one, it originally came free with a magazine but you can now buy it as it was so popular - I adore it!  It seems to go with any embellishment at all. Susan loves the colour purple so all the embellishments and card base are different shades of purple. The solid part of the large butterfly is cut using the smallest die from Sizzix Bigz die Vintage Butterfly with the top layer being cut with Sizzix Thinlits die Intricate Vintage Butterfly.  I used two different pieces of card that I had coloured with various shades of purple Distress Ink - one piece darker than the other, then spritzed with Glimmer Mist and glued together with Cosmic Shimmer PVA.  The tiny butterflies are cut from the same card using Spellbinders Flutter Love and the Happy Birthday is also Spellbinders - Sentiments 3. I attached the embossed panel to a purple card blank then added the butterflies, sentiment and little purple gems for lots of bling,  all with the Cosmic Shimmer glue.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Darnell's NBUS/Boo Boo Challenge - Use NBUS (never before used sctuff) and/or show some boo boo you have made.  Mine is just NBUS  - Both Sizzix dies used for my large butterfly.
Bizzy Becs - Anything Goes.
Allsorts Challenge - Bring on the Bling.
Stamplorations - Things with Wings - its part of their fabulous Spring blog hop celebrations.

All of these are fabulous blogs and challenges!

Thank you again for visiting, I hope you are having a good week.  Tomorrow my friend Julie is picking me up for a day at her house for a good catch up - lunch and a good natter -  I am really looking forward to it!

Take care.  Christine xxx

Little Easter Bunny!

Hello!  How lovely to see you, thank you so much for stopping by - I really appreciate it lots!  Here is a little Easter card I made for my friend Jill.

I used a NBUS (never used before shctuff) stamp set which came free with Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine, for the tree and the cute bunny.  The leaves and the flowers come separately to the tree so its a very versatile set and comes with hearts and other images and some lovely sentiments too.  The sentiment I used is from a Personal Expressions clear set, All Year Round.  The inks are Versafine Vintage Sepia and VersaColour Sage and Orchid and I coloured the bunny in with Promarkers.  I haven't got a grass die so I used a snippet of green card which I snipped with scissors to try and emulate a grass die effect.  The circle and scallop circle are both cut and embossed with Spellbinders dies using my Grand Calibre and the background embossing is Creative Expressions Floral embossing folder and I used my Sizzix bigshot for that.  I added some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen to the flowers and the bunny's nose and whiskers and edged all the white card with the green ink before I put everything together.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Darnel's NBUS/Boo Boo Challenge - Use something NBUS and/or a project you have made a boo boo on!  My NBUS are the tree, flowers, leaves and bunny.  There is no boo boo but it did cross my mind, well my husband's actually, that the bunny is huge in relation to the tree - I could have changed the perspective but I like the card so a monster bunny it is!
Cuttlebug Mania - Some Bunny To Love using manual die cutting machines only.
Pixies's Snippets Playground - Use Snippets - All the card except the base card are snippets.
Penny Black and More - All Things Spring.
That's Crafty - Foliage and Flowers.

I love all these challenges - so much fun and so much inspiration!

Thank you again for visiting me and have a fabulous day!  Take care.  Christine xxx

50th Wedding Anniversary Card!

Hello and thank you very much for stopping by to visit me, I really appreciate it!

On Saturday, it was my Brother and Sister-in-Law's (Lloyd and Margery) 50th Wedding Anniversary and here is the card I made for the awesome couple!

Its so hard to photograph mirror card but you get the idea!  The purple card base is 7inch x 7inch and I added a gold mat.  The beautiful diamond and heart piece is cut using Spellbinders Lovin' Diamonds which I glued to another piece of matching purple card. The glasses are made with a NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) die that came free with a magazine.  I cut it out of the gold card twice and embossed them too.  I trimmed the stems of the glasses so they would fit into the centre frame then I added the waste bubbles above the glasses.  The little hearts were waste from the Spellbinders die cut and the '50' is cut using a very old die - I can't remember the make. The panel was then attached to the gold mat on the base card.  I stamped Happy Anniversary on the inside.  I was pleased with the gold and purple as it looks quite regal - perfect for the occasion!  Its strange to make a card with no ink or stamping - its not something I do often.

I would like to enter Darnell's NBUS/April Fools Boo Boo Challenge - Darnell's challenges are always such fun and this one is double fun!  You can enter something using a NBUS (never before used schtuff) of which we all have lots!  Something you have made a 'boo boo' on and are happy to share or both!  Mine is just the glasses which are NBUS.  I must confess though that one year I did make Darren (my husband) his anniversary card with the wrong year on!  Now that was a huge boo boo which, when he told me -(aaaaaargh!)  had me changing it very swiftly! How silly did I feel! Please join in, its such fun!  You can join in as many times as you like!  Thank you Darnell, I love to play!

Once again, thank you for visiting me and have a good week.  Take care! Christine xxx
